Humble Beginnings — Big Vision: In 1989, at just 24 years old, founder Steve Benson took a leap of faith. Armed with a loan from his Mother-in-Law and with a passion for design, along with his entrepreneurial spirit, Steve rented space in an industrial park on Modesto’s west side — the first home of what would become Modesto Kitchen & Bath. The space was modest, but his vision was anything but. Steve then moved to their current location at 1616 Tully Rd and transformed an old bicycle shop into one of the largest and most comprehensive showrooms in the state.  From there Steve focused on delivering honest service and high-quality remodeling work — earning trust one project at a time.

Growth Through Innovation — Building a Better Showroom: By 2011, the business had evolved so significantly that it outgrew its facilities. Recognizing the need for more space — for design, fabrication, and warehousing — Steve purchased, then tore down the neighboring building and replaced it with a new structure housing a spacious warehouse, an in-house cabinet shop, and additional parking. This strategic expansion allowed Modesto Kitchen & Bath to bring more work under one roof — from design, planning, and materials to fabrication and installation — streamlining projects and enhancing convenience for homeowners.

A Showroom That Inspires: Today the current building has been completely renovated into one of the most comprehensive Kitchen and Bath showrooms in California. With a building that now spans more than 5,000 sq.ft. the showroom showcases a wide variety of cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, appliances, and finishes — all curated to help clients envision their dream spaces. With so much to explore, homeowners can see products up close, compare materials, and work firsthand with designers to tailor every detail.
